DOES THE WILDCAT’S FUTURE INCLUDE A COLLISION WITH
CHRISTIAN CAGE?

Before the King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary, TNA
management director, Jim Cornette, offered Jeff Jarrett the fifth
and final spot. Cornette did this because of the personal issues
that left Jeff unable to participate in his qualifying match. Jeff
Jarrett was now given the opportunity to name himself as the fifth
man and he turned it down. Cornette then gave Jeff the opportunity
to name the fifth man to fill that final spot. Jeff chose the
“Wildcat” Chris Harris and those in attendance and watching at home
would agree that Chris Harris made the original “King of the
Mountain” proud.
Although Chris Harris didn’t win the TNA World Championship, he did
put on an outstanding performance. Harris was also instrumental in
the final moments of the match. The “Wildcat” Chris Harris jumped
from the top rope, spearing Christian Cage off the ladder which
allowed Kurt Angle to climb the ladder and hang the championship for
the win.
This is the second King of the Mountain match that Chris Harris has
participated in. He’s been a part of a dozen memorable moments with
TNA and he is what some would call a “TNA Original.” He’s been with
the company from the start. Only a few can make that claim today in
2007. Currently “Wildcat” Chris Harris is a singles wrestler. He
severed his ties with his former America’s Most Wanted tag team
partner, “Cowboy” James Storm in very dramatic fashion.
The future of Chris Harris seems very bright and full of
opportunities. He has to be considered a top championship contender
for the title. He was hand picked by Jeff Jarrett to be a part of
that match. That means a lot within TNA. While Chris Harris wasn’t
representing Jeff, he certainly would be considered the guy that
Jeff knew would represent himself and be a competitor that would
give the fans what they wanted and that’s an incredible main event.
The “Instant Classic” has to be harboring some ill will towards
Chris Harris. To put it bluntly, Harris cost Cage the championship.
In the short time Cage has been with the TNA he seems to have a
habit of winning, but never officially being pinned or made to
submit in a match to lose the championship. Having never single
handedly officially lost the championship has to not sit well with
Christian Cage at all. To put a face to the reason he isn’t
currently champion has to make Cage’s blood boil. The future is an
open stretch of road for “Wildcat” Chris Harris, but on the horizon
there is one large roadblock in the form of the “Instant Classic”
Christian Cage.
